About

We listen, act, and transform

As a parent, it's heartbreaking to watch your child struggle to express their big feelings - especially when you know something is wrong, but they can't find the words to tell you. Whether your child is dealing with anxiety, emotional meltdowns, or challenges from major life change, child centered play therapy offers a way to help them process their experience in a way that feels natural and safe. Children don't yet have the abstract thinking skills needed to process complex emotions with words. Instead they communicate through play - the language of childhood. I am currently working towards my Synergetic Play Therapy certification, with a strong belief that for young children and those affected by trauma, play is often the effective form of communication. I integrate play centered therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to support clients and their families. I also work with: * Children struggling with behaviors at home, school, or in the community. * Children with anxiety, depression, separation issues, self-esteem issues, or who are being bullied. * Parents and teens who are disconnected. * Adults who want therapy for Anxiety or Depression * Children, teens, or adults with trauma history * Couples Therapy (PACT) * Adults who are dealing with a transitional phase of life (new parent, new college grad, empty-nesters, aging parents, etc) * People who need a neurodivergent affirming therapist Finding a therapist who is a good fit for you and your family can be challenging. If you enjoy a straightforward approach from a therapist who loves to use humor, we might be a good fit. We will always be working in a collaborative, playful way to help you and your family reach your goals. We can meet in-person in Lawrence or via telehealth.
